Attempting to be a Super Mom

Tuesday morning, Sydney was born by a c-section at 8:27 am.  She was 7 lbs 1 oz and 20 inches long.  I took the last pregnancy update pictures the weekend before. Here I was at 39 weeks: Tuesday morning, we went into the hospital to get prepped for the c-section at 6:00.  I was so nervous.  Here's Shawn and I, right before the walk to the OR. When I went into the operating room, they started the spinal, but had problems getting the flow they wanted which may have been the cause of the pain during the closing and putting the uterus back in... sorry if that is TMI.  It was all worth it though, because this is what we got. So when I made the colored circles for the alphabet game, I had a bunch of extra pieces left over. I decided that it would be really fun to also make a color match game. Ben might be able to play this memory style as well seeing as there aren't as many pieces. Color Match Game What you need: Scissors Glue black construction paper multiple colors of construction paper 2 circular objects of different sizes 1.  Trace the smaller circle on to the multiple colored sheets of paper.  Make sure you have 2 of each color. (I made a lot of circles for other projects and games as well.  You don't have to do this many.) 2.  Trace the bigger round object onto black paper.  Make sure that you do as many circles as you have already cut out, with 2 extra for the black game pieces. 3.  Glue the colored circles to the black circles so that you can't see the color when the game piece is flipped over. ...

Since this week we covered the letter F, and will be continuing it again next week I thought we'd add the letter F to the alphabet matching game.  Because he's still a little too young or new to playing games like this, I don't think he's ready to play it like memory yet, but he's actually beginning to learn his letters pretty well he seems to enjoy the game.  I know the video is a little dark.  It's from my phone which isn't the best camera I have but seems to be the most convenient at craft time.

This week and next week with Daddy (due to my neglect this week with the letter crafts) will be all about the letter F.  I got this one from Totally Tots .  I didn't have the fake fur so the whole things is made from construction paper but it is super cute. F is for Fox What you will need: brown construction paper a pom pom a googly eye scissors glue markers 1.  Trace and cut out the letter F on the construction paper. 2.  With the scraps cut out 2 ears and a tail for the fox. 3.  Color the F.  My little one loves to color so we have very colorful letter animals. 4.  Glue on the tail. 5.  Glue on the ears. 6.  Glue on the eye. 7.  Glue on the pom pom nose. This week should have been relaxing seeing as I've been on bed rest.  Guess what!  It wasn't relaxing at all.  Tuesday, I had my doctor's appointment and Shawn had his.  He'd been seeing a doctor for his numerous health problems and the doctor had been pushing him off and treating him like he's a hypochondriac.  He decided to see a new doctor because there was really something wrong and he wasn't getting the help he needed or was paying for.  He went to his first appointment with the new doctor on Tuesday afternoon.  The doctor immediately set him up for a colonoscopy and endoscopy for Thursday.  Wedenesday, Shawn started his fast.  I made him jello because he could only have clear liquids and jello.  Ben decided he wanted jello.  Shawn gave him a bite, and Ben gagged but apparently liked it because after he finally got it swallowed he wanted another bite.  The 2nd bite also made him gag and then he spit the jello out on the ...

Sorry about the lack in posting recently.  As I'm sure you've guessed, I've been pretty busy with getting ready for the new baby. Saturday, my family through a surprise shower for me.  It was really nice.  I had a great time and the food was so good.  Earlier in the day we went out for pizza at Antonio's in the River City Market.  It's such good pizza!!! Then, we went to Costco.  While we were shopping, I started to feel funny and it got to the point I thought that I might pass out.  Shawn's mom checked my blood sugar and it ended up being quite high.  I've never had blood sugar problems.  We checked it a couple more times as the night went on and it was normal again. I can't believe it's finally here!  I'm so happy this week is finally over.  I'm just waiting on Ben to wake up so we can see what adventures the day will bring.  Everyday with him is an adventure.  I love it! I haven't done any of the big things on my to do list this week, but oh well.  Maybe this weekend with Shawn's help I can accomplish these things.  It's just a lot of major cleaning and decluttering before the baby gets here.  Now I promise, my house is nowhere near this bad, but the show hoarders freaks me out.  It makes me feel claustrophobic and like I need to go on a cleaning and throwing away spree.  My frames for my glasses came in today, so after I get to the eye doctor so they can put my lenses in them, I'll be able to see again!  I'm super excited.  I know that it sounds silly, but I have been with out whole, working glasses for a long time and I haven't worn my contacts since July because they irritate my eyes....
