Happy Homemaker Monday

The Weather:::
It's supposed to be amazing weather.  60s and 70s all week.

Right now I am:
Feeding Rylie her Peach Oatmeal Bananas and sipping orange juice.

Thinking:
I have soooooo much to do this week.

On my reading pile:::
I haven't actually read a book for myself in weeks.  I have some I'd love to read, but no time this week to start them.  For now, it's going to have to be things like Rapunzel and LaLaLoopsy, and whatever other books the kids choose for me to read to them.

On my tv:::
I'm not sure... I need to find something though, since I'll be crafting a good chunk of the day.

On the menu for this week:::

Monday - Sweet and Sour pork chops
Tuesday - Bourbon chicken and rice
Wednesday - Takeout from somewhere.
Thursday - Thanksgiving
Friday -
Saturday -
Sunday -

On my to do list:::
Laundry
Grocery shopping
crafting
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
Finally finish my fireplace banner, and a nursing cover up

Homemaking Tips:::
Add a dash of salt to a vase of water for fresh flowers.  I don't know why, but for some reason, this helps the flowers live a little longer.

Looking around the house:::
I have piles upon piles of laundry to fold and put away.  My kitchen table is stacked with my current projects.  The big kids are playing in the play room with their blocks, while I feed Rylie and type this up.  We're listening to holiday music.  Yes, Christmas music.  It's my favorite time of year, and between the cooking, crafting, and cleaning I have to do, it helps me stay motivated.

From the camera:::

On my prayer list:::
Anyone who needs one.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be. Matthew 6:21

We are listening to Christmas music as well. I agree it helps with the motivation.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Potato Soup

During Lent this last spring, I needed a meat free dinner to feed my sister-in-law and her family. Usually my potato soup has lots of bacon and bacon grease in it. I found this recipe here .This one is meatless, but it is important to add that it is NOT dairy free. There are adjustments you can do to make it dairy free though. It’s quick and was really well liked.  Potato Soup 6-8 cups russet potatoes, peeled and chopped 1 yellow onion, diced 2 stalks celery, chopped 1 clove garlic 4 cups vegetable stock 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded 1/2 cup sour cream or cream 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper Pinch red pepper flakes 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp olive oil In a large pot over medium heat, add the butter and olive oil. Once hot and melted together add the onions and celery. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add the potatoes and minced garlic to the pot and continue to sauté all of the ingredients for about 5 minutes. Add vegetable stock and increase th
