Happy Homemaker Monday

Good morning, or almost afternoon.  I've been so busy today.  I got Ben up, dressed, fed, and took him to school. Upon waking up two little girls in my house had wet their beds and I already had laundry in the washer and dryer.  Needless to say, I've been a laundry fool today, but I'm almost done until tonight and all the beds but Rylie's are made now.

As I look outside my window:::
It's a dark and gloomy day, but the rest of the week looks beautiful.

Right now I am:::
Sitting on the couch with my feet up, eating crackers and cheese.  I love the Ritz garden veggie crackers and with little slices of aged cheddar cheese on top, they are so delicious!

Thinking and pondering:::
Our future and what it holds for us.

On my bedside table:::
Break Out by Joel Osteen
Summer Days by Lisa Jackson
The Family Beach House by Holly Chamberlin
My rosery
The tv and cable remotes

What I am creating:::

I haven't been working on anything but I really want to finish up my blanket.

My simple pleasure:::
Checking things off of my to do list.  I'm not easily motivated, but once I start getting things done from my to do list, I have a hard time stopping.

Homemaking tips:::
It's the hardest thing for me to do, but I have to make myself.  Keep up on the house!  It never gets bad if you keep up on it.

Looking around the house:::
There are a couple dishes in the sink to be washed.  There is a load of laundry in the dryer (mostly just Rylie's bedding) and Rylie's bed needs to be made but other than that the house is pretty clean.  Scotland is asleep in her swing, Rylie (who isn't feeling good) is sleeping on the love seat, and Sydney is laying in the big chair watching Adventure Time on her iPad.

From the camera:::
Yesterday, Shawn took the kids and I on a wonderful drive in the country, which is one of my favorite things to do.

Prayer List:::
My mother-in-law and her sister Kathy as they take care of their sister who is very sick and in hospice.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. ~ Mark 12:30

Potato Soup

During Lent this last spring, I needed a meat free dinner to feed my sister-in-law and her family. Usually my potato soup has lots of bacon and bacon grease in it. I found this recipe here .This one is meatless, but it is important to add that it is NOT dairy free. There are adjustments you can do to make it dairy free though. It’s quick and was really well liked.  Potato Soup 6-8 cups russet potatoes, peeled and chopped 1 yellow onion, diced 2 stalks celery, chopped 1 clove garlic 4 cups vegetable stock 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded 1/2 cup sour cream or cream 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper Pinch red pepper flakes 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp olive oil In a large pot over medium heat, add the butter and olive oil. Once hot and melted together add the onions and celery. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add the potatoes and minced garlic to the pot and continue to sauté all of the ingredients for about 5 minutes. Add vegetable stock and increase th
