If I have a few minutes to myself, I will::::
I don't have much time today.  I'll be finishing up the invites for Ben's birthday party.  I wanted them in the mail today but I ran out of time.  They'll be out tomorrow. Then, I get to start making decorations.

New recipe I tried, or want to try this week::::
I'm going to make Trisha Yearwood's Skillet Almond Shortbread this week.  I'm so excited and if it's good I'll post the recipe.

In the garden::::
Nothing new except one of my succulents is blooming really beautifully.

Favorite photo from the camera::::
I've been working so hard on my kitchen.  I'm in love with my baker's rack that my husband got me for my birthday.

Homemaking Tip::::
This might be silly and something a lot of people do already, but when you buy clothes at the store, take the price tags off of them as soon as you get home.  Up until recently I had a bad habit of just folding them and putting them away, then when we'd put them on we'd take the tags off and tagging barbs and tags would be left all over our house.

Visiting with Blog friends (blog you want to share, blog post that caught your eye)::::
I'm still back visiting where I've come from. I've been reading my blog from the beginning.  Also, I'm so in love with the Curlew Country Blog. The pictures are amazing and she has an adorable family.

Praying for::::
Shawn as he travels this week to St. Louis and then to Buffalo.

Bible Verse, Devotional that is resonating with me at the moment::::

I love your tip, I also sometimes forget to get the tags out and then wonder why I'm getting stabbed lol

I had to skip the rest of the post after I saw what you were reading to say, Welcome to the family!! OMG those books are the most amazing works of fantasy fiction I've read in such a long time. They are a close tie with Lord of the Rings on the epic scale.

Now I'll go read the rest of the post.

I love the bakers rack, so pretty.

I try to take the tags off all out clothes at one time and toss them into the bag they came out of, if not those horrible plastic pieces end up everywhere.

Have a great week.

Potato Soup

During Lent this last spring, I needed a meat free dinner to feed my sister-in-law and her family. Usually my potato soup has lots of bacon and bacon grease in it. I found this recipe here .This one is meatless, but it is important to add that it is NOT dairy free. There are adjustments you can do to make it dairy free though. It’s quick and was really well liked.  Potato Soup 6-8 cups russet potatoes, peeled and chopped 1 yellow onion, diced 2 stalks celery, chopped 1 clove garlic 4 cups vegetable stock 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded 1/2 cup sour cream or cream 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper Pinch red pepper flakes 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp olive oil In a large pot over medium heat, add the butter and olive oil. Once hot and melted together add the onions and celery. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add the potatoes and minced garlic to the pot and continue to sauté all of the ingredients for about 5 minutes. Add vegetable stock and increase th
