Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather:::
This weekend was chilly and rainy. Today is the same. I think it's actually supposed to be this way all week long.

On my reading pile:::
The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella. I've been devouring her books lately. I love how light and fun they are.

Movies or Shows I watched this weekend:::
I didn't really watch any movies or shows this weekend. I watched KU basketball, when my Jayhawks lost, but that was pretty much it.

On my TV:::
I can't wait to watch the new season of Grace and Frankie. Hopefully I'll have some time for that today, but I'm not counting on it.

On the menu for this week:::

Monday
Shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, and cucumber and onions in vinegar

Tuesday
Oven tacos with rice and beans

Wednesday
Chicken potpie soup w/ rosemary biscuits

Thursday
30 minute skillet lasagna with broccoli and asparagus

Friday
Sesame noodles, honey soy shrimp, roasted broccoli

Saturday

Sunday

On my to do list:::
Monday - Grocery delivery should be here between 10-11am. Housework, editing, Sydney and Rylie dance class, Ben's clay class, Sydney's soccer practice
Tuesday - Housework, editing, Ben's soccer practice
Wednesday - Ben and Sydney marathon club, Ben's drawing class
Thursday - Ben's soccer practice
Friday - Housework

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I haven't been working on anything lately. Need to work on Ben's upholstered headboard for his bed. Also took a break from my crochet virus blanket until I can go pickup more yarn.

Looking around the house:::
The kitchen needs some light pick up. The kids rooms are disasters but those will have to wait until tomorrow as tonight there is not time. I have plenty of laundry that needs tending to though, and dusting and glass cleaning as well as floor cleaning.

From the camera:::
Yesterday, the kids had a friend's birthday party at a local park. It was so beautiful out there with the colorful trees.

What I'm wearing today:::
I've got a pair of dark blue jeggings, a white blouse with small navy blue designs all over it, my light blue crystal tear drop necklace and this morning when I went out had on my black and grey rainboots.

One of my simple pleasures:::
I can't think of anything new today. I'm a simple girl. My simple pleasures usually consist of nothingness. Just snuggles, watching tv, reading, maybe playing games with family and friends.

Bible verse, Devotional:::
Today, it's not religious, it's not in depth, but sometimes I just need to hear it and know I can't be alone in this. After the week I had last week, yup, this needed to be heard and felt.

The blooming trees are pretty aren't they? I was sorry to see KU lose as well although we didn't watch it. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

We're excited about Grace and Frankie too but it's been so long since we watched the show, we backed up to Season 2 to make sure we're current and didn't miss anything. Where do you shop that delivers your groceries? I need to shop there! You look lovely in your photo - have a great week!
Pamela, I don't know if you come back and check on the comments, but I was going to tell you that I shop at Hy-vee. They do delivery or store pickup here, as well as regular shopping. I love it.

Potato Soup

During Lent this last spring, I needed a meat free dinner to feed my sister-in-law and her family. Usually my potato soup has lots of bacon and bacon grease in it. I found this recipe here .This one is meatless, but it is important to add that it is NOT dairy free. There are adjustments you can do to make it dairy free though. It’s quick and was really well liked.  Potato Soup 6-8 cups russet potatoes, peeled and chopped 1 yellow onion, diced 2 stalks celery, chopped 1 clove garlic 4 cups vegetable stock 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded 1/2 cup sour cream or cream 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper Pinch red pepper flakes 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp olive oil In a large pot over medium heat, add the butter and olive oil. Once hot and melted together add the onions and celery. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Add the potatoes and minced garlic to the pot and continue to sauté all of the ingredients for about 5 minutes. Add vegetable stock and increase th
