Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather.....
Had a cold weekend with about 7 inches of snow....  Ready for warmer days.  Looks like the week is going to be cold though.

Seven Day

Right now I am....
Sitting on the couch, fighting with Sydney about what to watch on TV.

Thinking....
I would love a nice nap today, but I have way too much to do today.

On my reading pile....
The Widow of Larkspur Inn and Little House in the Big Woods. My goal is to finish both this week.

On my TV.....
Apparently Austin and Ally if you ask Sydney.
Tonight, I hope to finally start Walking Dead.
Bates Motel
Bones

Favorite blog post last week (mine or other)....
I don't know.  I've not been doing tons of blog reading.  I've only been keeping up on a couple lately.
I would probably have to say Diary of a Stay at Home Mom - And they grow....  It reminds me of how precious my time is with my kids because soon they'll be all grown up with families of their own.
Blog hopping (newly discovered blog)....
I haven't found any new blogs this week.

On the menu for this week....
Monday:  Tequila Lime Baked Chicken
Tuesday:  Creamy Rotini with Ham and Asparagus
Wednesday:  Bacon and Egg Frittata
Thursday:  Husband's Delight
Friday:  Grilled Cheese
Saturday:
Sunday:

On my to do list....
Laundry
Dishes
Picking up the living room and hallway

In the craft basket....
I'm not sure, but I'm feeling creative, so we'll just have to see.

Looking forward to this week....
Finishing these books
Mass on Thursday and Friday and getting baptized, confirmed, and receive the Eucharist on Saturday!

Looking around the house....
Shake It Up is blaring on my  TV now, and all three of the kids are locked on.  My house is a mess.  The kids toys and library books are scattered all over the living room, laundry that needs to be put away is folded in the hallway, and the sink is filled with dishes from last night.

From the camera....

On my prayer list.....
My kids as they get over this stomach bug.

Bible Verse, Devotional.....
I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! ~ Psalm 27:13

Tequila Lime Chicken, YUM!

You are so right about the kids, I feel like just yesterday mine were as little as yours, now I have my son about to turn 10 in 2 weeks and my daughter turning 14 2 weeks after that. Goodness.

Hopefully your kids get to feeling better soon. We all recently got over the stomach flu and it was horrible. I hope it never comes back! LOL. We had lots of gatorade, sleep, and soup.
I'm ready for winter to be over, your temps look about the same as ours. I'm ready to see things blooming, and to be able to feel a nice warm breeze!
Hope you have a wonderful week.

Potato Soup

During Lent this last spring, I needed a meat free dinner to feed my sister-in-law and her family. Usually my potato soup has lots of bacon and bacon grease in it. I found this recipe here .This one is meatless, but it is important to add that it is NOT dairy free. There are adjustments you can do to make it dairy free though. It’s quick and was really well liked.  Potato Soup 6-8 cups russet potatoes, peeled and chopped 1 yellow onion, diced 2 stalks celery, chopped 1 clove garlic 4 cups vegetable stock 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded 1/2 cup sour cream or cream 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper Pinch red pepper flakes 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp olive oil In a large pot over medium heat, add the butter and olive oil. Once hot and melted together add the onions and celery. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
