Happy Homemaker Monday

Jeeze, I think weekends need one more day!  We had one of the best weekends in a really long time.  No stress and lots of fun, but now I need a day to rest and recover.

The weather outside is::::
A smidge chilly, although it will be warming up today to about 50.

On the breakfast plate this morning::::
A peppermint mocha, almond croissant, and a banana and strawberry fruit pouch.

As I look outside my window:::
The sun is shining and I can see the Christmas lights on the house and our tree out front.  Everything is damp and soggy, so I dare not go out there.

Right now I am::::
Sitting on the couch next to a sleeping Scotland, while the kids lay on the other couch and chair, watching Peppa Pig.

As I look around the house::::
I have a load of laundry in the dryer to fold and one in a basket waiting for me to fold as well.  There are a couple of dishes in the sink that need a good hand washing and I can hear the dishwasher running now.  I've already gone grocery shopping, this morning, for the week, so our cabinets and fridge are full.  The house is clean as we did a pick up, vacuuming, sweeping, steam mopping, and bathroom cleaning last night.  All I have left to do is vacuum upstairs.  It's really nice to have the house ready to go for the week come Monday morning.

On today's to do list::::
Laundry....I have about 2 loads to fold and put away
Dishes.... I have a few to hand wash and will soon have a dishwasher to unload.
Vacuum... The upstairs needs a good vacuuming.
Errands.... I need to make a run to the milk store and a trip to Walmart to pick up the pictures that I had printed.
Cooking.... I need to put some chicken and a can of rotel in the crockpot so I can make easy chicken enchiladas for dinner tonight.
Dance.... Sydney has dance at 5:30
Wrestling.... Ben has wrestling at 6:00

Currently reading::::
I'm reading Game of Thrones by George RR Martin currently as well as Sippy Cups Are Not For Chardonnay by Stefanie Wilder-Taylor
On the TV today::::
Peppa Pig at the moment.  Maybe some Vlogs

On the menu this week::::
Monday - Chicken enchiladas with green sauce

Wednesday - Pork chops, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and veggies
Thursday - Out for my nephew's b-day

What I am creating at the moment::::
Nothing at the moment, but am working on my Christmas cards if that counts.

Happy Homemaker Monday

   As I look outside my window::: So far today, it is cold and gloomy! Right now I am:::  Sitting on the couch under my crocheted afghan. Thinking and pondering::: On Thanksgiving!  What to fix.  I think I'm getting carried away, but I love it.  On my bedside table::: I haven't been doing much reading lately and I should. Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson Frozen by Sarah Nathan and Sela Roman On my tv tonight::: American Horror Story Some Doctor Who specials Playing on the radio::: I don't have anything playing right now, but I'm obsessed with James Blunt's new song, Bonfire Heart. The video is amazing too.  I love the story behind the video.  The people in it are NOT actors.  The wedding scene towards the end, he actually crashed a wedding and captured the bride and grooms first dance.  Amazing.  And, not only is his voice and music wonderful, he's a total hottie. Blogmas 2014- Day 1 Favorite Christmas Tradition

This year, I'm participating in Sandra's, at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom, Blogmas 2014.  If you want to join in, you can go over to her post, by clicking here , and see what it's all about.   When I was a kid, growing up, we never had fake trees.  I loved everything about them. The smell, the way they looked, and even more so, the going out as a family in the cold.  It was always a hunt whether at a tree far or a parking lot full of precut trees.  When I was younger it was the parking lot.  There was a place about a mile from our house that we would drive to.  We'd walk through tons of trees leaning against walls and fences.  My dad would hold each one up, shaking them a little bit and asking what we thought.  We all got to be involved in finding the perfect tree.  As we got older, we started going to tree farms instead of the parking lot.  We'd get a sled and a saw and walk between aisles and aisles in fields, full of gorgeou...

Blogmas 2014 - Day 13 How Are You Counting Down To Christmas

Ok, honestly....  I'm not.  I have this gorgeous advent calendar that is 3 building with little numbered doors all over them.  I haven't gotten it out for lack of space and really small children.  Maybe next year.  Also, Ben has been all over the lego ones and stuff so I figure, I'll pick up some next year or as I see them now this year, so each kid can have their own next year.  I don't know maybe I'll just make them if I'm feeling crafty and find the time.  It actually hit us all at once on Saturday that Christmas was less than 2 weeks away.
